Research Interests

Agroecology, Solitary bees and wasps, Natural enemies and beneficials, Landscape heterogeneity, Connectivity, Diversity indices, Functional diversity, Habitat management, Biological control, Behavioural ecology

I am broadly interested in the study of the effects of agricultural landscape characteristics on solitary bees and wasps and their natural enemies, as well as on the ecosystem services they provide (pollination, predation and natural biological control). We evaluate the nature of relationships between landscape and local variables of cropping areas, attending to community and population biological parameters like abundance, richness and diversity, offspring production, parasitism, mortality or parental investment. Nowadays, we are having a first contact with ecological infrastructure design and habitat management as methods to enhance beneficial insects. Additionally, I’m interested on different aspects of behavioural ecology in solitary wasps.
